Mālama Your Maʻi

It's That Time of the Year!

Each year in May, we fundraise to grow community support for our period supplies program, with the ultimate goal of building local resource streams to ensure program sustainability and raise awareness about period poverty and menstrual inequity in the lāhui.

It’s also a time for us to recognize Period Poverty Awareness Week, taking place this year from May 12-18. This national initiative, launched by the Alliance for Period Supplies, brings together a large network of independent period supply banks across the nation. As a proud member, we’re united in collective action to raise awareness around the issue of period poverty and the negative impact it has on girls, women, menstruators, and anyone who gets their maʻi.

Our Call to Action

In honor of our 5th Annual Mālama Your Maʻi campaign, we invite you to join the movement this May by taking 5 actions:

🔴 Donate $5, $50, or any amount with a 5
🔴 Host a Kit-Making Pāʻina
🔴 Learn and Share
🔴 Collect Period Products
🔴 Spread the Word

Together, we can end period poverty in Hawaiʻi — one action at a time. Hit the links below to learn more and send us an email at info@maimovement.org to let us know how you’re getting involved.

Mahalo for your aloha and continued support!
